From New Zealand to the globe: Historical biogeography of mite harvestman arachnids
Mite harvestmen are tiny slow-dispersing arachnids that live in leaf litter habitats in temperate and tropical forests worldwide. Dr. Boyer has used morphological and DNA sequence datasets to reconstruct the evolutionary relationships of this group of animals to test hypotheses about their biogeographic history. Global biogeography and the history of the New Zealand fauna in particular will be discussed.
