Research in Organometallic Chemistry
My research laboratory pursues the synthesis of group VI and group VIII organometallics with the objective of applying these complexes for catalytic or stoichiometric applications. Recent work developed a highly pi-basic metal fragment for the template syntheses of 2-aminoethyl isocyanide and 2-aminophenyl isocyanide, molecules unknown as free species. The ORTEP of the 2-aminoethyl isocyanide molybdenum complex is below. This research program is currently funded by the National Science Foundation and the Dreyfus Foundation.
