Heavy Quarkonia and Related States - A Laboratory for Studying Strong Interaction Physics
In this talk I will present a survey of recent results in the study of heavy quarkonia - the systems of bottom/anti-bottom and charm/anti-charm mesons. Such systems offer a unique opportunity to study the principal interaction governing their spectra, and are particularly good - because of their relative simplicity - for involving undergraduate students as research assistants. This talk will focus on results from the Belle experiment in Japan which I and my students have collaborated on, but also may include results from other experiments carried out over the past decade.
