Visiting Speakers Fund

The Midstates Speakers Series was established to facilitate the exchange of ideas and connections between members of the consortium. Consortium funds are available to pay for travel, lodging, and meals for people visiting other consortium campuses to give a talk. We maintain a database of speakers but will also support a colloquium by someone who is at a member institutions who is not on the database. After making arrangements with your speaker then apply for funds using the “Speaker Request Form” option from the pull down menu associated with the “Speaker Directory” tab above.

The Speakers Directory is in the process of being populated. If you wish to be register as a potential speaker use the “Add a Talk” option from the pull down menu associated with the “Speaker Directory” tab above. If you know a speaker you would like to host on your campus use the “Speaker Request Form” tab on the same pull down menu.

This page needs some text content. For the meantime, some explanations of what’s displayed. The “Request” column features an icon instead of text, to minimize the width of that column. The icon links to the Speaker Request Form, automatically populating the Speaker Name, Speaker Institution, and Talk Title.

The Speaker Name column displays the name, linked to a listing of all Talks by that particular Speaker. Followed by the name of the Speaker’s Institution, and the Talk Category. Clicking the Talk Category will show a listing of all Talks in that Category. Finally, we have the Talk Title, which links to the page for that particular presentation.
